Today, National Public Radio (NPR) began accepting social network accounts with Janrain Engage to make it easy for its users to participate on the site by posting comments on articles and signing up for newsletters. Visitors to the NPR website can now quickly register and login using their existing accounts with Facebook, Google, Twitter, Yahoo!, LinkedIn or OpenID.
The integration of Janrain Engage allows NPR users to register within two clicks, pre-populate a name and email address with profile information from their preferred network, and sign-up for newsletters and other permission-based marketing programs offered by NPR.
NPR selected Janrain Engage for its rich features and ease of implementation, which nicely complemented the organization's agile development process. We're excited to see another major media organization leverage the existing social network and email accounts of its audience to improve registration rates and facilitate greater engagement.
