In 2010 and particularly during the latter half of the year, several key print and digital publications such as The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, The New Yorker and Wired Magazine arrived on the iPad. Avid fans and readers of these magazines, including yours truly, griped about needing to pay newsstand prices for the iPad editions. Fret no more. Things are about to change for the publishing community and its readership. In a much awaited move, Apple hinted this week that they would be offering subscription-style billing to all publishers on the iPad.

At Janrain, we have been making continuous investments in our mobile initiatives since Spring 2010 starting with the release of our iPhone SDK for social logins and followed by support for sharing via social networks, email and SMS.

In keeping with the forward momentum and as promised in my earlier blog post from late 2010, we are excited to announce support for the iPad platform.

Screen shots below showcase the social login and social sharing experience for your apps using the Janrain Engage iOS SDK.
