OpenID Enabled Sites Rank in Top 30

A list of the 30 Largest Social Bookmarking Sites July 2007 was published recently. Upon looking through the list we were very happy to see a couple of MyOpenID affiliates listed; ma.gnolia.com (OpenID is an login option), and Spotplex.com (OpenID Only). It is also worthwhile to note that the #1 site digg.com has announced plans to support OpenID, while the #2 site Netscape.com fully supports OpenID as a login option. This list is more proof that OpenID is becoming a valuable part of the stack that will actually deliver on the promise of portable identity and help take Social Network sites to a new level.

With all the questions surrounding how page ranks are tabulated, accuracy of Alexa, etc. here is a quote on how this list was put together:

“Here are the 30 Largest Social Bookmarking Sites ranked by a combination of Inbound Links, Google Page Rank, Alexa Rank, and U.S. traffic data from Compete and Quantcast. Although no traffic metrics are completely accurate we do believe the data to be useful for gaging relative audience size.”

    “…gaging relative audience size.”

    Don’t you mean gauging? ;)

According to Google its gaging, though it could also be gauging.
